Our vision and ethos

Six Lips Theatre was founded in 2010 by Roxanna Klimaszewska, Hannah Wallace and Anna Rose James. Our aim is to create theatre that leaves the audience with something to think about.

Six Lips creates original work, usually written or devised in-house, although are known to approach existing plays. There is a fairly Brechtian epic-theatre approach and moral to the typical Six Lips show; everything you see is carefully and lovingly crafted from scratch. Every show is strewn with the detail of collaborating artists. We believe there should be a very organic and home-made feel to every production; the craftsmanship should be apparent for all to see.

No one of our shows is like another – each story has its own voice, face and personality. We like to invest in the process of the show, of telling the story – how it develops along the way, and how each thought and step matters to the end product.

We welcome collaborators, writers, directors, actors, artists, designers, audiences, critiques, live performance artists, dancers, puppeteers, poets and musicians.
